North Charleston police have arrested a third suspect in connection with the theft of copper wire from a local business.
Michael David Prosecky, 45, was taken into custody after an investigation into stolen copper wiring from Ruby Tuesday on Northside Drive. He was charged with damage to property while stealing metals.
Officers discovered two homeless individuals inside an unlocked storage area at the restaurant on January 31 during foot patrols. A nearby hotel employee then reported suspicious activity, prompting officers to investigate further.
Police found three electrical power panels on the east side of the restaurant with their doors open and copper wiring removed. The hotel employee told officers he had observed several people removing the wire and loading it into a vehicle. Surveillance footage allegedly showed the stolen materials being taken into a hotel room.
Two other suspects, Aimee Michelle Becker and Benjamin Shaffer, had already been arrested and booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center. Detectives are still searching for 35-year-old Sharnise Letitia Cook.
