Two men have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 58-year-old Michael Pope in Riverside, California.
The incident occurred around 7:20 a.m. on June 29 in the 9900 block of Magnolia Avenue in the Arlington neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found Pope lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities say a physical altercation had taken place between Pope and the suspects before the stabbing. Using information from dispatchers, police quickly located and arrested Christopher James Buschbaum, 36, and Myron Daniels, 67 — both identified as local transients.
Both men have been booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on murder charges and are being held without bail.
“This was a senseless act of violence,” said Captain Chad Milby of the Riverside Police Investigations Division. “Thanks to quick action by dispatchers, officers, and detectives, we were able to get these suspects off the streets.”
Police have not released a motive or confirmed whether the suspects knew the victim. The investigation remains ongoing.
