GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Michael Oliver, 54, was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in prison for his role in a Chicago-to-Green Bay drug trafficking ring. Judge Donald Zuidmulder also imposed 12 years of extended supervision following Oliver’s conviction for delivering fentanyl and cocaine.

Authorities executed five search warrants in Brown County in July 2024. A coordinated search in Chicago uncovered a stash house containing 12 kilograms (26 pounds) of fentanyl, four kilograms (9 pounds) of cocaine, 748 grams (1.6 pounds) of methamphetamine, 460 grams (1 pound) of heroin, 16 firearms, and marijuana.

Initially, seven individuals were charged in connection with the ring. Prosecutors noted that this case marked the state’s first wiretap investigation targeting fentanyl, and at least 47 people are facing charges in the larger operation. Felton Currie, identified as the ringleader, previously received a 40-year prison sentence.

Oliver’s sentencing highlights the ongoing crackdown on large-scale drug trafficking networks operating between Illinois and Wisconsin.
