Madison County Man Arrested for Human Trafficking After Allegedly Offering False Support Services
MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) — A 65-year-old man from Madison County has been arrested on human trafficking charges following an investigation by the Huntsville Police Department’s Community Outreach Unit.
Michael McDougal is accused of offering “support services” to individuals in vulnerable situations. Authorities allege that McDougal manipulated at least one victim, promising to help her improve her life but instead coercing her into a situation of sexual servitude.
The investigation’s findings were presented to the Madison County District Attorney’s Office on July 2, resulting in a warrant for McDougal’s arrest. He was taken into custody the same day.
McDougal faces charges of Human Trafficking – 2nd Degree and Criminal Trespass – 3rd Degree. He is currently being held at the Madison County Jail on a $250,500 bond.
Officials emphasized the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious offers of support or employment, especially to individuals in vulnerable life circumstances.
