FALMOUTH, Mass. — Michael Lutfy, 61, of Falmouth, faces multiple charges following an attempted traffic stop and drug trafficking investigation involving several law enforcement agencies.
On Friday at approximately 6:00 a.m., the Falmouth Police Department, alongside the Massachusetts State Police, Sandwich Police Department, Cape Cod DEA Task Force, and Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office, executed multiple search warrants as part of a months-long probe into cocaine trafficking.
Lutfy was found driving on Locust Street when officers tried to initiate a stop. He allegedly fled the scene while discarding narcotics from his vehicle. The pursuit ended safely on Depot Road, where Lutfy’s vehicle was stopped.
Concurrently, search warrants were served at residences on Greengate Road and East Falmouth Highway. Officers seized a substantial amount of cocaine, cash, and drug paraphernalia related to narcotics distribution.
Lutfy was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, Obstruction of Justice, Failure to Stop for Police, and Marked Lanes Violation. He was booked at the Falmouth Police Department and is awaiting arraignment.
