HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) – A 31-year-old Elmira man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges following a financial fraud incident in Horseheads, according to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael L. Miller was arrested on Thursday, July 3, and charged with:
Identity theft in the second degree (Class E felony)
Petit larceny (Class A misdemeanor)
Authorities say Miller fraudulently accessed and withdrew money from another person’s bank account while in the Town of Horseheads. Details about the amount stolen were not disclosed.
After his arrest, Miller was issued an appearance ticket and is expected to appear in Horseheads Town Court at a later date.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further information has been released.
