JASPER, Ga. – A U.S. Postal Service worker is facing theft-related charges after being arrested in connection with stolen packages and undelivered mail in Pickens County.

According to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, Michael J. Turner, 36, of Jasper, was taken into custody on June 13, 2025. His arrest followed a joint investigation involving the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, the Jasper Police Department, and the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General.

The investigation was launched after multiple complaints from local residents about missing packages and undelivered mail. Authorities say these complaints led them to Turner, who was allegedly involved in the thefts while working his postal route.

Turner was arrested and transported to the Pickens County Adult Detention Center, where he faces charges related to mail and package theft.
