PEMBROKE, Mass. (WLNE) — A Providence man was arraigned Monday after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a 75-year-old woman in Pembroke on September 14.

36-year-old Michael J. Guerrero, of Providence, faces multiple charges including carjacking, kidnapping, indecent assault and battery on a person over 60, assault with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, and threats to commit a crime.

Police reports state the elderly woman arrived at the Ninety Nine restaurant in Pembroke after closing hours to retrieve personal belongings. Guerrero allegedly approached her, falsely claiming to be a valet and offering to drive her to the rear entrance, which he said was open.

The woman entered Guerrero’s vehicle, and he reportedly drove her to Providence. According to WCVB, Guerrero threatened the woman with a gun and demanded she perform lewd acts. When the vehicle stopped at an intersection, the woman tried to exit. Guerrero then fled on foot.

Following an extensive investigation, police issued an arrest warrant. Guerrero was apprehended in Rhode Island last week and extradited to Massachusetts, where he was arraigned in Plymouth District Court Monday morning.
