Michael Gordon Charged in Armed Robbery on Rollerblades

Suspect linked to four robberies across Pennsylvania

by Amelia Crawford

Abington Township, PA — The Abington Township Police Department has arrested Michael Gordon, a 32-year-old Hatboro man, in connection with an armed robbery at a Lukoil gas station on May 25. The unusual twist? Gordon committed the crime while wearing rollerblades.

According to authorities, Gordon entered the Lukoil station at 1945 Old York Road around 7:32 p.m., lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun and knife, and threatened to shoot the cashier unless money was handed over. After receiving cash from the register, Gordon fled the scene on his rollerblades.

A subsequent investigation connected Gordon to three other similar robberies in Philadelphia and Feasterville.

On July 3, Abington detectives—working with law enforcement from Upper Moreland, Philadelphia, and Lower Southampton—located and arrested Gordon on the 300 block of S. Warminster Road in Upper Moreland Township.

He was transported to Abington Police Headquarters and formally charged with:

Robbery (F1)

Aggravated Assault (F1)

Theft by Unlawful Taking (M1)

Possession of an Instrument of Crime (M1)

Reckless Endangerment (M2)
…among other charges.

Gordon was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James P. Gallagher, who set bail at $99,000 cash. He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
