Michael Daniels Charged in Brunswick County Drug Case

Crack cocaine, firearms found during home search

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. — A 61-year-old Longwood man is facing multiple felony charges after investigators discovered crack cocaine and firearms during a search of his residence, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

Authorities said Michael Lane Daniels was arrested on Jan. 6 following a search of a home on Ward Road, which was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation.

During the search, investigators seized approximately 42 grams of crack cocaine, two firearms, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, officials said.

Daniels has been charged with maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for controlled substances, felony trafficking in cocaine, possession of a controlled substance on jail or prison premises, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

BCSO officials said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
