PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Two Greenville men were arrested following a home invasion and assault in Pitt County on Sunday.
Deputies charged Michael Clemons with:
Break/enter to terrorize/injure
Assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury
Possession of a firearm by a felon
Detetrius Swinnely faces charges of:
Break/enter to terrorize/injure
Possession of a firearm by a felon
Officials say the incident occurred around 9:25 a.m. on Prickly Pear Drive, where the men allegedly kicked in a home’s door, and one pistol-whipped a resident, causing serious injury.
A deputy on patrol spotted the suspects on Old River Road, where a gun matching the one used in the crime was recovered. Authorities also confirmed both men are convicted felons.
Clemons is being held without bond, while Swinnely’s bond was set at $75,000.
