ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) — Michael Brian Miller has been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of killing his wife in 2023 through severe blunt force trauma. The Ector County District Attorney’s Office confirmed a jury convicted Miller of first-degree murder and sentenced him to serve life in the Texas Department of Corrections.

On August 12, 2023, deputies with the Ector County Sheriff’s Office responded to an RV park on Snow Moon Road after Miller’s brother called 911 for a welfare check. The brother informed investigators that Miller had confessed to killing his wife during a phone call and had taken a large amount of prescription medication with the intent to die by suicide.

Authorities found Miller’s wife deceased on the living room floor with extensive blunt force injuries to her face and head, consistent with being struck repeatedly by a blunt object. Miller was discovered unconscious in the bedroom and transported to Medical Center Hospital for treatment before being released.

Investigators reported that an argument between Michael and Lisa escalated into physical violence, with Michael allegedly striking Lisa multiple times, which led to her death.
