A Maricopa man with a lengthy criminal history is once again facing serious drug charges following his June 30 arrest near the entrance to the Desert Cedars neighborhood. Michael Boling, a resident of Villages at Rancho El Dorado, was taken into custody outside the Circle K on John Wayne Parkway after police received a tip from the Criminal Investigations Division.

During the arrest, officers found Boling in possession of 7 grams of methamphetamine, 457 fentanyl pills, a glass pipe, syringes, and torch lighters. According to the probable cause statement, all items tested positive for narcotics.

Boling was indicted Monday in Pinal County Superior Court on two counts of possession of narcotic drugs for sale, one count of possession of a dangerous drug for sale, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Due to Boling’s known history of fleeing law enforcement, officers approached his vehicle with extra caution. His criminal record dates back to 2019 and includes multiple convictions in both Maricopa and Maricopa County. In 2020, he pleaded guilty to dangerous drug possession, fleeing police, and forgery. He was again convicted in 2021 for possession or use of a dangerous drug and placed on probation.

Authorities filed a petition to revoke Boling’s probation the day after his most recent arrest. Court records show he has faced at least five arrests involving drugs over the past five years, serving time in prison as part of a plea agreement in one of the cases.

Boling is scheduled to appear before a Pinal County judge on Friday to face the new charges.
