GREAT MILLS, Md. — Michael Bronson Andrade, 48, of Chesapeake Beach, was arrested following a manhunt in Great Mills after an early morning domestic violence incident. Andrade now faces multiple felony charges including home invasion, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, and use of a firearm during a crime.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. on September 7, 2025, when deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Longfields Village Drive. Andrade allegedly entered a residence armed with a firearm, confronted victims, and fled on foot as deputies arrived.
Authorities launched a large-scale search involving K9 units and several deputies. The manhunt concluded with Andrade’s safe apprehension. Residents were warned to avoid contact with the armed suspect during the search.
Felony charges carry severe penalties, especially with firearm use enhancements. Court proceedings are forthcoming.
