MIAMI, Fla. – A former Miccosukee Casino and Resort employee has been arrested for allegedly stealing slot machine proceeds, authorities confirmed.

Gilberto Gabriel Dinis, 69, of Hialeah, was taken into custody on Friday on a charge of employee theft of slot machine proceeds, according to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Casino officials reported Dinis to law enforcement after an internal investigation revealed he redeemed 13 gaming vouchers totaling $568.87, which he had allegedly obtained through unauthorized access to a gaming machine.

The casino’s human resources department confirmed Dinis had been terminated for theft prior to his arrest. He was called back to the casino to collect his final paycheck, where authorities took him into custody.

While Dinis reportedly confessed to the theft, the exact details of his statement were redacted in the police report.

Following his arrest, Dinis was booked into jail, and charges are now pending in Miami-Dade County.
