LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A convicted serial burglar recently released on parole has been arrested again, accused of targeting nail and hair salons throughout the Las Vegas valley.
On June 26, a Clark County grand jury indicted Mervyn Henry, 41, on 10 counts of burglary of a business, according to court documents obtained by the 8 News Now Investigators.
Henry’s history of similar crimes dates back to April 2015, when Metro police arrested him on 12 counts of burglary for breaking into multiple nail salons and related businesses. At that time, Henry would break doors or windows and ransack the areas near cash registers. Police released surveillance footage of the suspect to help identify him before his arrest.
Henry pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 8 to 20 years in prison. He was granted parole and released in June 2024 after serving 9 years.
However, on May 31, Metro police arrested Henry again, accusing him of involvement in up to 21 burglaries targeting salons across Las Vegas during May. Officers apprehended him while he and another man were reportedly scouting several salon and spa businesses.
In police interviews, Henry expressed remorse and acceptance of his situation. Evidence, including surveillance footage, links Henry and at least one accomplice to the new string of burglaries.
During a grand jury hearing, Judge Jacqueline Bluth denied bail for Henry.
Last week, Henry pleaded not guilty to the latest charges. His trial is scheduled for September.
