STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — Two suspects were arrested following a high-speed chase through Stearns County in a stolen vehicle from Fargo.
Melissa Torres, 32, of Moorhead, was driving the stolen Jeep, with 21-year-old Jackson Mulder of Valley City as the passenger. Both had active arrest warrants at the time.
The chase began when an officer in St. Joseph spotted the stolen Jeep, prompting Torres to flee. Law enforcement deployed spike strips on I-94, stopping the vehicle. Torres and Mulder then fled on foot into a nearby swamp but were captured after K9 units established a perimeter.
Both suspects suffered minor injuries and were treated before being taken into custody. Torres now faces additional charges, including fleeing and receiving stolen property.
