Melissa McDonald and Carmen Manzanares Arrested for Drug Charges in Fredericksburg

Two women taken into custody after drug bust in Fredericksburg

A months-long investigation by the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division culminated in the arrest of two women on April 24, 2025, following a drug bust in Fredericksburg, Texas.

The investigation initially centered on 54-year-old Fredericksburg resident Melissa McDonald, who was suspected of selling methamphetamine in both Kerrville and Fredericksburg. On April 24, authorities executed a search and arrest warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of East Highway Street in Fredericksburg. During the search, investigators discovered approximately 136 grams (4.8 ounces) of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a significant amount of cash. McDonald was arrested and booked into the Gillespie County Jail on a felony warrant for manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance.

While at the residence, investigators also encountered Carmen Manzanares, 43, who was found to have an outstanding felony arrest warrant for aggravated robbery from Lubbock County. Additionally, Manzanares was in possession of approximately 0.5 grams of methamphetamine. She was arrested and booked into the Gillespie County Jail for her outstanding warrant and a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

The arrests mark another significant operation in the ongoing efforts of the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office to combat drug-related activities in the region. Both women are currently being held in the Gillespie County
