A woman has been arrested in connection with a recent theft at a local Home Depot store, while two other suspects remain on the run. Forty-one-year-old Melanie Cepeda faces charges of conspiracy to commit retail theft and retail theft following her arrest in Mangilao last Friday.
Court documents reveal that Cepeda admitted to planning the theft with two other individuals, Sara Moniz and Jimmy Borja. The trio allegedly stole over $1,700 worth of high-value items from the Home Depot on February 17.
Cepeda reportedly told investigators that Moniz and Borja are in possession of the stolen goods. Despite her arrest, the two co-defendants remain at large, and authorities are continuing to search for them.
Cepeda appeared before a magistrate judge in the Superior Court of Guam on Saturday and was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Moniz and Borja to come forward.
