McGarrett Lee Smith Jr. Arrested in Break-In Case

Greenville man charged with domestic-related burglary

A 25-year-old Greenville man is behind bars after allegedly breaking into his former partner’s home in Winterville with the intent to terrorize and cause harm.

McGarrett Lee Smith Jr. was arrested on Tuesday, June 10, by the Greenville Police Department near the intersection of Belfair Drive and West Vancroft Circle. According to arrest warrants, Smith Jr. forcibly entered a residence on Sterling Pointe Drive, intending to intimidate and physically assault the occupant.

He now faces charges of breaking and entering with the intent to terrorize or injure, along with a related domestic violence charge.

Smith Jr. is currently being held without bond at the Pitt County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear at the Pitt County Courthouse on Wednesday, June 11.
