Chennai police arrested five individuals, including Mayur Purat, on charges of possessing cocaine for sale in the Choolaimedu area. The officers seized 55 grams of cocaine, 850 grams of green ganja, and weighing machines during the operation.
This arrest is part of an ongoing crackdown that began on January 25, targeting multiple drug peddling groups. Based on confessions from earlier detainees, police apprehended Mayur Purat (35) from Perambur, Nalimbadi (23), Rayan Dani (19) from Choolaimedu, Michael (20) from Anna Nagar, and Ayan Khan (21) from Ramapuram.
The investigation continues as authorities work to dismantle the drug supply network in the city.
