ATLANTA — A Georgia fast food manager has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing a fellow employee’s father in a restaurant parking lot, authorities say.

Maurice Evans, 25, a manager at Bojangles in Palmetto, allegedly shot 43-year-old Dominique Goodman around 1:15 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest warrant. Law enforcement reports that Evans admitted at the scene to fatally shooting Goodman.

Evans faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.

Palmetto Police said the incident began after Goodman’s daughter, who works at the Bojangles location, contacted her father about a disagreement with Evans. Family members allege that Evans had been harassing Goodman’s daughter.

Police reports indicate that the two men confronted each other in the parking lot, during which Evans allegedly shot Goodman, resulting in his death.

Goodman’s family described him as a devoted father and a hard worker. A manager at Honda South in Morrow noted that Goodman had been a top salesman at the dealership for approximately three years.

Evans is currently being held at the Fulton County Jail as the case proceeds.
