Mauren Martinez Arrested in Connection to Michelle Young’s Overdose Death
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Authorities have arrested Mauren Martinez, a former inmate, in connection with the overdose death of Michelle Young at the Oklahoma County Detention Center earlier this year.
On March 17th, Michelle Young was found unresponsive in her jail cell. Medical personnel administered multiple doses of NARCAN and performed CPR, but Young was pronounced dead at a hospital less than an hour later.
Following an investigation by the jail’s Criminal Investigation Division, officials determined that Martinez supplied the contraband drugs that caused Young’s fatal overdose.
Paul Timmons, interim CEO of the detention center, commented on the arrest, stating, “This arrest serves as a reminder of the grave risk illicit drugs present within our facility.”
Martinez is currently held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center and faces a charge of first-degree murder.
