Matthew Graves Arrested on Multiple Drug and Firearm Charges in Southern Pines

Southern Pines Man Faces Several Felony Charges After Search Warrant Execution

Matthew Graves, 41, of Southern Pines, is facing multiple drug and firearm charges following a search executed by the Moore County Sheriff’s Department on March 7, 2025. The arrest was announced by Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a press release on Friday.

Detectives from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of East New Jersey Avenue in Southern Pines. During the search, authorities seized a variety of controlled substances, including suspected cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamine, oxycodone, and marijuana. They also confiscated drug paraphernalia, marijuana paraphernalia, a firearm, and $2,825 in cash.

As a result of the investigation, Graves was arrested and charged with several offenses, including possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule I, II, and VI controlled substances, felony possession of Schedule I, II, and VI controlled substances, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances, simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a stolen firearm. He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

Graves was placed under a 48-hour hold at the Moore County Detention Center, and his court date is scheduled for March 12 in Moore County District Court.
