Matthew Alford Arrested for Burglary at Macedonia Church

Holmes County man admits to theft after arrest in Walton County

HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – A Holmes County man has been arrested in Walton County and is facing multiple charges, including active warrants related to burglary and theft.

Matthew Alford was taken into custody after an investigation linked him to a break-in at Macedonia Church, where several items were reported stolen. Following his arrest, Alford admitted to the crime, according to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

Authorities said they have recovered the stolen property and will be returning it to the rightful owners. The HCSO had previously requested public assistance in locating Alford in a social media post on July 1.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Walton County Sheriff’s Office for their support in locating and apprehending the suspect.
