PENZANCE, UK — Martyn Boyns has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of offences in the Penzance and Newlyn area, police confirmed.
According to a statement issued by Penzance Police, Boyns was taken into custody on 17 June 2025 and now faces nine counts of theft from shops and one count of fraud by false representation.
The case has been adjourned for sentencing, and Boyns has been released on bail under strict conditions. As part of an Interim Criminal Behaviour Order, he is banned from entering key locations in Penzance, including:
Market Jew Street
Causeway Head
Queens Square
Western Promenade
He is also prohibited from entering specific retail stores:
Asda Express, Western Promenade, Penzance
Tesco Express, Branwell Lane, Penzance
Boots, Market Jew Street, Penzance
Furthermore, Boyns is barred from staying in any commercial premises or shop across Cornwall if instructed to leave by staff, police, or anyone in authority over the premises.
Police have asked the public to report any breaches of these conditions directly to Devon and Cornwall Police.
The local Neighbourhood Policing Team has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment in the town centre, stating they continue to monitor the situation closely.
