MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A man has been arrested in Memphis for allegedly stealing a rental car after failing to return it.
On April 10, Memphis Police officers spotted a suspicious vehicle parked at the EZ Express Mart on Frayser Boulevard. After running the vehicle’s plates, officers discovered it was reported stolen by AVIS rental services.
The driver, later identified as Martin Culbreath, was approached by officers and taken into custody without incident.
According to the affidavit, Culbreath had rented the car from AVIS but did not return it by the required due date, resulting in it being reported as stolen.
Culbreath is now facing charges related to theft of property involving a motor vehicle.
