TEMECULA, CA (Riverside County Sheriff’s Department) – A man and a woman from Long Beach were arrested last week for allegedly burglarizing a business in Temecula, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department (RSO).
Deputies were called to the 28000 block of Jefferson Avenue on Tuesday following reports of a commercial burglary. The suspects reportedly broke into the business, loading approximately $50,000 worth of tools and property into a vehicle before stealing it.
Investigation led authorities to track the victim’s credit card, which was used to book a motel room in Santa Ana. On Saturday, the Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team executed a search warrant at the motel.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered the stolen vehicle in the parking lot and observed a male and female suspect leaving a motel room. The suspects, later identified as 36-year-old Marselina Ortiz and 43-year-old Jason Warner, both residents of Long Beach, were detained. Inside the motel room, deputies recovered the majority of the stolen property.
Ortiz was arrested and booked for commercial burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, identity theft, fraudulent use of credit card information, and possession of a controlled substance. Warner was arrested for commercial burglary. Both suspects are being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
