Marlon Russell Jr. Arrested in Gary Drug Bust

Over 870 grams of narcotics seized by Lake County task force

GARY, Ind. — The Lake County Sheriff’s Drug Task Force – Regional Enforcement Team (DTF-RET) conducted a narcotics operation resulting in the arrest of Marlon Russell Jr., a convicted felon suspected of drug dealing in Gary.

Early this morning, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on the 3800 block of Maryland Street in the Glen Park neighborhood. During the search, deputies seized:

816 grams of cocaine

15 grams of crack cocaine

40 grams of marijuana

3 firearms

Russell, 38, was arrested and booked into the Lake County Jail.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office praised the efforts of the task force, noting that the arrest of a previously federally convicted felon demonstrates their ongoing commitment to disrupting criminal activity and protecting local communities.

The Regional Enforcement Team includes detectives from multiple police departments across Lake County, working collaboratively to combat narcotics and related crimes.
