HARTFORD, Conn. — Marlon Damian White, 47, a Jamaican citizen previously deported from the United States, pleaded guilty this week in Hartford federal court to making a false statement on a U.S. passport application.

White, who also goes by “Damian Marlon White,” was admitted to the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident in 1995. He later faced a series of convictions, including a New York state assault conviction and a federal drug distribution conviction in the Southern District of New York, for which he served two years in prison. Following his federal conviction, White’s permanent resident status was revoked, and he was deported to Jamaica in February 2006.

Prosecutors allege that White returned to the U.S. and, on May 6, 2024, submitted a passport application using a false name, date of birth, and place of birth. He also provided a fraudulent California birth certificate and driver’s license to support the application.

White will be sentenced on March 10 in Hartford and faces a maximum of 10 years in federal prison. He has been detained since his arrest on October 9.
