ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. — A narcotics investigation at a residence in Opelousas led to the arrest of three men on multiple drug and weapons charges.
On September 9, St. Landry Parish Narcotics Detectives focused on a methamphetamine distribution case at a home on McClelland Drive. A homeowner cooperated with investigators, revealing that Markell Guillory, 21, of Opelousas, was storing marijuana at the residence for sale.
Officers obtained a search warrant and seized 4.75 pounds of marijuana along with 48 Hydrocodone tablets. Guillory was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I (marijuana), Schedule II (Hydrocodone), and obstruction of justice.
Further investigation uncovered the involvement of Kenneth J. Lorden, 44, of Opelousas. Surveillance showed Lorden interacting with an unknown individual in a silver Chevrolet pickup truck leaving the residence. A traffic stop on the truck revealed a burnt taillight, and the driver, Patrick Boast Jr., 25, of Church Point, gave consent for a vehicle search.
Authorities found marijuana residue, approximately one pound of crystal methamphetamine, and $1,694 in cash inside the vehicle. A subsequent search warrant at the home uncovered cocaine residue on a digital scale, two handguns, and a .410 shotgun.
Lorden was charged with distribution of Schedule II (crystal methamphetamine), possession of Schedule II (cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and three counts of possession of firearms in the presence of controlled dangerous substances. Boast Jr. was charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule II (crystal methamphetamine), a burnt tail lamp violation, and transactions involving drug offenses.
