Mark Lamont Harris Jr. Arrested in Little Rock Double Homicide

20-year-old charged with two counts of capital murder in 2023 case

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Little Rock Police Department announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a double homicide from December 2023.

On Tuesday, Sept. 23, officers arrested 20-year-old Mark Lamont Harris Jr., of Little Rock. Harris has been charged with two counts of capital murder.

The charges relate to a shooting on Dec. 20, 2023, that resulted in the deaths of two men. Patrol officers from the 12th Street Division responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the 3000 block of W. 14th Street.

Upon arrival, officers found two individuals suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by MEMS and rescue services, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing. All individuals accused of crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
