MARTINS FERRY, Ohio — Three city residents were arrested early Sunday morning on drug-related charges following an investigation sparked by community complaints.

According to Vincent West, chief of the Martins Ferry Police Department, officers responded to a home on Clinton Street around 5 a.m. after receiving multiple tips about suspicious activity and heavy foot traffic at the residence.

“We definitely take the tip seriously. We ask any residents with any information of suspicious activity in their neighborhoods to please call us,” West said.

Police arrested Mark Kinkus, Michael Kurtley, and Reed Morrow at the home. Authorities reported finding several grams of methamphetamine along with numerous drug abuse instruments, including needles and devices used to smoke meth.

Kinkus faces one count of trafficking in drugs, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of possessing drug abuse instruments. Kurtley was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possessing drug abuse instruments. Morrow faces the same two charges.

West noted that the home had previously been raided in April by the Sheriff’s Department and that Kinkus had been under observation for some time.

The Bridgeport Police Department assisted in the arrests. All three men were booked into the Belmont County Jail.

Kinkus’ bond was set at $22,000, while Kurtley and Morrow each received bonds of $2,000.
