McKINNEY, Texas – Mark Kadiri, a student at Collin College, has been arrested for allegedly scamming elderly victims out of more than $61,000. The Collin County Sheriff’s Office worked with law enforcement agencies from multiple states to conduct an extensive investigation into Kadiri’s fraudulent activities.
Kadiri, who was attending class when he was arrested last Thursday, was subsequently linked to a series of financial fraud schemes targeting vulnerable elderly individuals. Investigators believe that Kadiri used deceptive methods to deposit over $61,000 into his bank account.
Following his arrest, Kadiri’s on-campus apartment was searched for further evidence related to the crimes. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized their commitment to protecting vulnerable members of the community, with Sheriff Jim Skinner stating, “We take crimes that victimize vulnerable members of our community very seriously.”
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to identify additional victims. Kadiri is facing multiple theft and fraud charges, and more charges may follow as further victims are discovered.
