SAN FRANCISCO — A retail theft investigation led to the arrest of Maria Campbell, 39, and her accomplice Joshua Rojas, 20, after stolen merchandise from Ulta Beauty was tracked from Pleasant Hill to San Francisco.

The Pleasant Hill Police Department (PHPD) initially responded to the theft report, which occurred at the Downtown Pleasant Hill Ulta store. Working jointly with the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) and leveraging overhead UAS (drone) systems, authorities located the stolen goods and tracked them to a residence in San Francisco.

Campbell and Rojas, both San Francisco residents, were taken into custody and booked into county jail by SFPD officers. All stolen property was successfully recovered.

The case has been handed over to the District Attorney’s Office for formal review and potential charges.
