KERR COUNTY, Texas – A man has been arrested in connection with a multi-day crime spree involving stolen vehicles, burglary, and over $100,000 in stolen property, according to the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).
Marcus Taylor, 34, faces several charges, including theft, burglary, evading arrest, and possession of a controlled substance. He was already wanted on unrelated warrants when he was identified as a suspect in multiple thefts reported between August 23 and August 27.
On August 26, deputies attempted to stop Taylor after he was spotted driving a Polaris Ranger without headlights. He fled on foot, and the vehicle was later confirmed to be stolen from a local business earlier that morning.
Investigators from KCSO and the Texas Department of Public Safety later recovered two additional vehicles believed to have been stolen and abandoned by Taylor. Authorities say Taylor also caused property damage by driving through fences on private land along Farm Road 480.
Despite evading officers three separate times, Taylor was arrested on August 28 at a property on Loyal Valley. Surveillance footage also linked him to a burglary earlier that day at a church on Valley View Drive.
Recovered stolen items include a Buick, three UTVs, a utility trailer, stolen U.S. mail from over ten addresses, and more than $50,000 worth of property from the church. The total estimated value of all recovered items exceeds $100,000.
“We are pleased to have this suspect off the streets and to see the end of his one-man crime spree,” said Sheriff Larry L. Leitha.
KCSO says the investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be filed.
