MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 22-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder following a fatal shooting in Memphis earlier this month.
According to Memphis Police, Marcus Jackson is accused of killing a man during a shooting that occurred on June 2 around 5:19 p.m. Officers responded to the scene near South Camilla Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, where they found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to Regional One Hospital but later died from his injuries.
Jackson was apprehended four days later on June 6 in the 900 block of College Park. He remains in custody and is facing a charge of first-degree murder.
Police have not yet released the identity of the victim or additional details about a possible motive.
