The son of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White, 29-year-old Marco Xavier Pierre White Jr, has received a suspended 30-week prison sentence after admitting to a series of burglaries in his hometown of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.
Pierre White Jr, who previously appeared on the Channel 5 reality show Big Brother in 2016, has a history of criminal offenses, including shoplifting, possessing a knife, and drug-related charges. Despite his previous legal issues, he avoided immediate jail time after pleading guilty to burglaries at a studio in Weston-super-Mare and a store in Bath.
On September 19, Pierre White Jr committed a non-dwelling burglary at a studio in Weston-super-Mare and another at a store in Bath on October 24. On October 22, he was involved in a theft from a store in Winterstoke Road, Weston-super-Mare. Police managed to swiftly arrest him after a member of the public reported seeing him leaving the scene with stolen goods.
Pierre White Jr was sentenced at North Somerset Magistrates’ Court to a 30-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. In addition, he received a nine-month drug rehabilitation order, and he was ordered to pay fines and costs. PC Joseph Reed from Avon and Somerset Police emphasized the harm caused by retail crime and the swift justice brought about by community involvement.
In the aftermath of these events, Pierre White Jr has spoken openly about his struggles with addiction. After spending over £1 million on rehab and undergoing 17 rehab stints, he revealed he had converted to Islam to help stay clean. Following his release from prison, he vowed never to touch drugs again and expressed regret for squandering his opportunities.
Marco Pierre White Sr, the renowned Michelin-starred chef, has previously expressed his frustration with his son’s behavior, blaming authorities for not intervening sooner. Despite the strained relationship, he has chosen not to visit his son in prison due to his own recognizability.
