Maranda Miles Arrested for Shoplifting & Meth Possession

South Carolina Woman Faces Multiple Charges in Aberdeen

The Aberdeen Police Department has announced the arrest of Maranda Miles, 36, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, in connection with shoplifting and drug possession.

Incident at Going, Going, Gone!
On September 10, 2024, Aberdeen officers responded to a call from Going, Going, Gone! regarding a suspected shoplifter. As officers arrived, Miles was exiting the store, setting off the security alarm.

Upon investigation, officers determined that Miles had stolen nearly $300 worth of merchandise and also had an active warrant for Failure to Appear in Columbus County.

Discovery of Drugs
Following her arrest for shoplifting, a search revealed:

A glass pipe with suspected drug residue

Two bags of a white powdery substance hidden under her clothing

Two bags of marijuana in her pocket

Miles was initially charged with:
✅ Misdemeanor larceny
✅ Possession of stolen goods
✅ Possession of marijuana
✅ Possession of drug paraphernalia

Lab Confirms Methamphetamine
On December 17, 2024, lab tests confirmed the white powdery substance was methamphetamine. A felony warrant was issued for possession of methamphetamine.

On March 23, 2025, Rockingham Police located and arrested Miles, who was taken before a Richmond County Magistrate and given a $2,500 secured bond.

Authorities continue their investigation.
