In a significant narcotics operation, Mapusa Police apprehended five individuals at the New KTC Bus Stand parking lot on December 12, 2024. The police seized a substantial 10.3 kg of suspected ganja, worth an estimated Rs 10 lakh. Among those arrested were Chandankumar Sharma (22), Rohit Sharma (21), and Imtiyaz Muslim Ansari (21), all from Jharkhand, as well as Vijay Volvoikar (25) and Parshuram Lamani (36) from Bardez, Goa. The group from Jharkhand is believed to have acquired the ganja to distribute it through their two local accomplices.
