Mansfield, LA — Donald Anthony Jr., a former firefighter with the Mansfield Fire Department, was arrested on fraud and identity theft charges after allegedly using the department’s credit card for over $14,000 in unauthorized transactions. The arrest stems from an investigation launched in July 2024 by the Mansfield Police Department (MPD) in collaboration with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Bossier Field Office.
The investigation revealed that between February and July 2024, the credit card had been used in more than 180 unauthorized purchases, raising red flags about potential theft. According to authorities, Anthony, 22, allegedly stole the Mansfield Fire Department’s credit card after his employment with the department was terminated in February 2024.
Investigation and Charges
The Mansfield Police Department requested a full investigation after noticing suspicious transactions made with the department-issued credit card. The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations determined that Anthony used the card for personal purchases without authorization, amounting to a total of $14,000.
An arrest warrant was issued through the 42nd Judicial District Court (JDC), and Anthony was charged with felony access device fraud and felony identity theft.
Anthony’s Arrest and Booking
Donald Anthony surrendered to authorities, and he was booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center. He is currently facing multiple felony charges related to the theft and misuse of the fire department’s credit card.
