Man Charged After Police Discover Cannabis Farm in Leyland

Police have charged a man following the discovery of a large-scale cannabis farm at a property in Leyland.

Mann Huu Nguyen, 31, of no fixed address, has been charged with being concerned in the production of a class B drug after officers uncovered over 200 mature cannabis plants during a warrant execution on Canberra Road.

The operation, which spanned five rooms, included both mature and newly planted cannabis. Authorities also discovered that the electrics had been dangerously bypassed through an underground connection to the mains supply.

In a statement posted to Facebook, South Ribble Police said:

“To remind you: our officers attended an address on Canberra Road in Leyland, where we located and dismantled a cannabis grow.”

Nguyen was arrested at the scene. After consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, he was officially charged and has been remanded in custody.

He is scheduled to appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court on September 15.
