In a swift and efficient operation, the police arrested a chain snatcher within 24 hours of the crime. The accused, identified as Manjunatha Mayya from Saligrama Karkada Bhatrakatte, was apprehended after snatching the mangalasutra of Seetha Baik, a resident of Yadtady.
On Thursday, Seetha Baik was on her way to attend a function at a nearby home when Manjunatha, riding a bike, approached her and stole her mangalasutra. After the incident, the police quickly reviewed CCTV footage from the area, leading them to the suspect. Upon his arrest, Manjunatha confessed to his involvement in the recent crime and also admitted to snatching a chain from an elderly woman in Barkur previously.
The police are now investigating further as they continue to gather information on other potential cases.
