Matunga police in Mumbai have arrested eight people, including a mother who sold her own 17-month-old daughter, in a disturbing case of child trafficking. The incident came to light following a complaint filed by the woman’s mother-in-law.
The accused mother, Manisha Suni Yadav, 32, reportedly sold her infant daughter in Bangalore. The case was registered after Pramila Pawar (51), Manisha’s mother-in-law, alerted police about the incident.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered and a detailed investigation was launched. As a result, Manisha and seven others involved in facilitating the sale of the child were arrested. The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Sulochana Suresh Kamble (45)
Meera Rajaram Yadav (40)
Yogesh Suresh Bhoi (37)
Roshni Sontu Ghosh (34)
Sandhya Arjun Rajput (48)
Madina alias Munni Imam Chavan (44)

All suspects were presented before a court and have been remanded to police custody until December 19. Authorities are investigating whether these individuals are linked to a larger child trafficking network and if similar crimes have occurred involving the same group.
The investigation remains ongoing, with police focusing on recovering the child and identifying any additional accomplices involved in the trafficking ring.
