A revenge-fueled armed robbery was orchestrated by Manish (32), leading to the arrest of five individuals involved in the heist at a house in Anand Parbat, Delhi. According to the police, the robbery was planned after a personal dispute dating back to 2018, where Manish was a co-accused in an attempted murder case with the complainant’s brother, Jitender.
The robbery took place on April 30, around 8 pm, when armed assailants barged into a woman’s home in Anand Parbat. The intruders tied her up at gunpoint, looted Rs25 lakh in cash, and took two mobile phones belonging to her brother. Before fleeing, they locked the woman inside the house.
After receiving the complaint, the police formed a dedicated crime branch team, which scanned footage from over 100 CCTV cameras. This led them to identify Manish as the mastermind of the robbery, hiding in Ghaziabad. Subsequent raids in Uttar Pradesh led to the arrest of Manish, Ayush (20), Rahul (24), Jatin (22), and Sachin (23).
During interrogation, Manish admitted that the robbery was an act of revenge. In 2024, a personal dispute with Jitender, the woman’s brother, who allegedly assaulted him, drove Manish to plan the robbery. Knowing that the victim’s family was involved in the cloth business and money lending, Manish enlisted Ayush to gather a team. Ayush, in turn, brought in Rahul, Jatin, Sachin, and another accomplice who remains absconding.
Following the robbery, the police recovered Rs11.45 lakh in cash from the suspects. The gang used the looted money to make purchases, with Jatin buying a motorcycle worth ₹1.72 lakh and two mobile phones. Ayush also bought a new mobile phone. The country-made pistol, used in the robbery, was recovered from Rahul.
