A combined operation by the Manipur police, Assam Rifles, and CRPF led to the arrest of a suspected drug peddler in Thoubal. The accused, identified as 39-year-old Hafijuddin, hails from Lilong Turel Ahanbi in the Thoubal district.
The arrest took place within the jurisdiction of the Lilong police station, where authorities discovered a significant amount of illegal drugs. Among the confiscated items were 27 bottles of cough syrup labeled “Codeine Phosphate & Triprolidine HCl.”
In addition to the syrup, the joint team seized three strips of contraband capsules, each containing 24 capsules, and 150 loose capsules, all hidden in black plastic polythene.
Following the seizure, the police have registered a case and forwarded the accused to court for further legal action.
