Manipur Police Arrest Drug Peddlers Seize Arms Cache

Two arrested, weapons and explosives recovered

Manipur Police arrested two inter-state drug peddlers on Tuesday, recovering approximately two kilograms of brown sugar in the Sekmai Pangaltabi area under Sekmai Police Station, Imphal West district.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Md. Mustakim (28) of Lilong Lou Manga and Umar Khan (30) of Lilong Chingkham Maning, both from Thoubal district. They have been taken into custody for further investigation.

In a separate operation, security forces recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition from the foothills of Tentha Tuwaband, under Khongjom Police Station, Thoubal district. Items seized include:

1 M16 rifle

1 SBBL PAG (Repeater)

1 .22 rifle with magazine

5 9 mm pistols each with magazine

6 rounds of ammunition of various calibers

4 12-bore cartridges

2 grenades

Another recovery at Uran Chiru village and surrounding areas under Irilbung Police Station, Imphal East district included:

1 .32 pistol

1 9 mm pistol

1 .22 rifle

1 repeater gun

3 hand grenades

2 detonators

3 live .32 rounds

Authorities confirmed that all recovered weapons and explosives have been handed over to the respective police stations for further investigation and legal action.
