The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) arrested Manhar Vaadi, a resident of Savli taluka, in connection with a string of motorcycle thefts across the city. Acting on a tip-off about a man riding a motorcycle without number plates in the Sama area, police apprehended Vaadi on Tuesday.
Investigations revealed that Vaadi targeted motorcycles parked at various locations, including under the flyover near Amitnagar Circle, Harni Airport Road, Sama, and Dumad Crossroads on the highway. His victims were often commuters traveling to other cities for work.
Vaadi confessed to stealing six motorcycles over the past few months, with police recovering three of them. He admitted to selling the stolen bikes at low prices to buyers.
The police continue to investigate to track down any further stolen vehicles and accomplices.
