BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A man has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of 12-year-old Breaunna Cormley.
Omar Passmore admitted guilt to first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with an additional 20 years to be served concurrently.
On the evening of July 19, 2024, Baltimore Police responded to the 500 block of N. Kenwood Avenue after reports of a shooting. Officers found Breaunna dead inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses said Passmore was alone with Breaunna at the time and loud yelling was heard before the shooting.
An autopsy confirmed homicide caused by two close-range gunshot wounds to her neck and head.
Passmore was arrested two days later on July 21, found carrying a backpack containing a .380 caliber handgun and ammunition. Forensic evidence confirmed this gun was used in the murder.
In a police interview, Passmore admitted to shooting Breaunna because of anger toward her mother.
State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates condemned the crime, saying, “There is nothing redeemable about a person who would intentionally take the life of an innocent child. This defendant has demonstrated a complete lack of humanity, morals, and conscience… He deserves to spend the rest of his life behind bars.”
Passmore will now serve life in prison.
