by Amelia Crawford

A man has been jailed after exposing himself near a children’s play area at Bognor beach.

Olegas Podolianko, 53, was spotted by witnesses on 27 April 2025 behaving indecently. Parents confronted him before police were called and later arrested him.

Podolianko, formerly of Elmer Road, Middleton-on-Sea, admitted the offence and appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on 26 September. He was sentenced to six months in prison and will remain on the sex offender register for seven years.

Arun District Commander William Keating-Jones said:

“This was a distressing incident seen by parents with their children. We take reports of exposure extremely seriously, and Podolianko was arrested soon after the matter was reported to us. We are pleased that this offender is now serving a custodial sentence.”

Authorities urged the public to report any suspicious or indecent behaviour immediately to ensure the safety of children and families in the area.
